Further evidence that the WTBorg Cult Inc. does indeed "channel" The Adversary.
did you have a plan to leave the organization?
i did.
it took a couple of years but we did leave and never had a desire to go back!.
My association began at age 15, baptized at 16, attended meetings for almost two years. I was in High School at the time and once it became common knowledge that I was a Jw many of my teachers had heart-to-heart talks with me to help me to think about what I was doing. The Pastor of my EUB Church had several discussions with me which were very helpful. My Father's family devoted much effort to dissuade me from remaining a Jw and my Father himself was very strongly opposed. He'd search my room while I was at school and when he found any Watchtower Literature he'd take it and burn it.
I consequently did develop doubts and following graduation from High School rarely attended meetings any longer. That is when I joined the Navy to escape the turmoil and the witnesses. An escape that, compared to the typical experience here, was a cakewalk. It was very easy because I had no other family or close friends involved. The Navy was the best move ever. While I didn't plan on a career in the Navy, it did come to pass. My initial obligation was for two years of active duty as a Reservist. While aboard ship in the San Francisco/Oakland/Alameda area with frequent cruises to the Western Pacific I came to love the life of a sailor.
Once I retired from the Navy and re-entered civilian life, I was approached by the witnesses and I did study with them for a time and did attend meetings for a time but never let on that I had any prior association. It was primarily to satisfy my curiosity; to determine whether the witnesses really had it.
Once I discovered that they really didn't have it, walking away the second time was equally painless.
Since then I have found It.
for some background - i studied on & off as a child with a jehovah's witness who has been patiently working on lots of our family for more than a decade and never gave up on any of us.
as a middle-schooler and a highschooler, my love for jehovah and any association with my childhoood bible teacher... faded.
disappeared.
As is evident by the emotional range of the responses, many here have suffered hurtfully as a consequence of their association with the WTBorg Cult Inc. Many have had their "Faith" destroyed as a result of the fearful indoctrination and practices of the WTBorg Cult Inc. Many have turned to rejection of The Word and The Almighty One because the emotional pain inflicted by the WTBorg Cult Inc. was too much to bear.
You, Apairo, are not able to recognize any flaws in the "organization" yet, but, it is almost certain that you will in due time. But, as you have discovered, there is indeed a Heavenly Father who hears and who offers help. He is impartial and will hear all who call out to Him no matter their religion or faith or any cult they may be immersed in. But, He does not deprive us of the ability to make choices freely. He does not prevent us from taking any path we may desire.
Early on, the WTBorg Cult Inc. does seem to be precisely what they claim it to be. Only later, as life goes on and other problems are dealt with, does it become apparent that they are not what they claim. Their Fear Based Mind Control Indoctrination will in time destroy Faith in the Almighty One and His Son by requiring unquestioning obedience to The Organization and to the Governing Body. You will be made to become very afraid to think for yourself or to question anything that the Governing Body teach or publicize. You will be transformed into an idolator who worships The Organization while believing that you instead worship the Almighty One.
Many here are still hurting. Many here regret their Baptism into the WTBorg Cult Inc. because they were deceived. If you continue your journey with the Jws the very sad reality is that you will not find true happiness. You will be changed into an "obedient slave" of The Organization, or else.
Any who come to their senses and begin to realize The Truth About The Truth are "destroyed" by the militant policies and procedures of The Organization. That is why so many here seem to be very bitter.
i want to share my story.
(might be a tad long).
i have no idea where i stand anymore regarding being a jw and where i stand in my marriage.. im 28 years old and the years are certainly ticking by.
The bond that developed between you and Leo is exceedingly intense. He was your "first love" and, in a sense, he was "forbidden fruit." The possibilities of "what might have been" are very tantalizing to ponder and can be absolutely haunting.
For some problems in our lives there simply is no satisfactory solution.
What you're experiencing is very common; in men as well. Foolishness in choices often produces consequences which persist for many, many years. It is only in old age that we eventually find relief. When wisdom finally takes hold.
Our next lives will be much different.
greetings, dog owners and lovers:.
since i wrote "i walk dogs" a few days ago, i started caring for a new little fellow.
feisty and noisy, bouncing off the walls.
Ooops! Sometimes as I type the sentence structure changes dramatically as it unfolds. Above "They're" should have come out "Their." Even when re-reading before clicking the "Post Reply" button I don't always catch the errors. Senior Moments are becoming more frequent. Thankfully, my dogs don't notice.

Dogs are indeed amazing creatures! They're companionship and attachment to us is very beneficial for our health. There is no other animal quite like them. Man's Best Friend without doubt.
amongst the many jw splinter groups , the "lords witnesses" are amongst the more interesting / amusing / depressing ( delete as applicable ).
the de-facto leader , gordon ritchie , was quite a well known jw in the uk in the past.
there was an amusing article in the times about him a few years ago ( https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-end-of-the-world-is-nigh-its-name-is-gordon-g3qxf8w5fn9 ) firewall / free to subscribe.
Forgot to say: the link in the OP above didn't work in my browser until the final "l" was added.

Yes, they are interesting. Some of their doctrine is nearer The Real Truth in that it differs significantly from WTBorg Cult Inc. teachings in a very positive sense. Others of their claims, however, are troubling.
We are most definitely living in strange times...
anyone who questions the governing bodys authority is labelled as an apostate and almost always they bring up the story of korah and his revolt against moses.. watchtower august 1st, 2002, the article loyally submit to godly authority paragraphs 8-15.. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2002563.
in not so subtle hint, the gb likens themselves to moses, and those who disagree with the gb are korah.. paragraph 15 is actually quite damaging to the gb's argument though:.
it was so unnecessary for all those people to lose their lives.
Wow!! Great postings and comments all!!
The intensity of the Light which you are shining onto the lies of the GB (G.O.D.) and their creation of men (WTBorg Cult Inc.) is dazzlingly brilliant!
By their actions they (the GB) offer proof that they are enforcing the edicts of their Ruler and Boss, The Adversary. It is quite amazing that their Mind Control Techniques are so effective at blinding the vast majority of "believers." Mindful of how the Pharisees controlled the masses when the Son of Man walked among them.
When a state of fear is sufficiently powerfully induced into the "congregation" it switches off any desire to think freely or to question the chains which restrain them.
How very sad...
does the act of baptism make us a "member" of any group or organization?

When we as former Jws came to the truthful conclusion that what the WTBorg Cult Inc. was teaching/preaching was not an accurate representation of The Word, many of us decided to look into every nook and cranny to see if we could discover the Real Truth. What the WTBorg Cult Inc. teaches isn't completely wrong in that their message does contain some "Truth;" but, sadly, their version of the "Good News" is quite gloomy and fearful and exclusive of the vast majority of humankind.
It has taken me a long time to finally find an explanation of the Baptism and what it means which demonstrates the full depth of our Creator's Love for us all.
When I read these analyses I am overcome with gratitude:
Knowing that ALL will be resurrected and saved is a great relief!
